Russia prepares plan of intrusion into Ukraine, sources say

Russia prepares plan of intrusion into Ukraine, sources say

KYIV, July 4 /Ukrinform/. Russia has developed a plan of intrusion of “peacekeeping forces” into eastern Ukraine. Negotiations are underway on the date of bringing the “peacekeepers” into Ukraine, the bulk of them will consist of Russian troops, a Ukrinform reporter in Moscow learned from a source with the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“Talks have reopened now, based on the situation [in the east of Ukraine - ed.] there. Our task is to agree on the deployment of peacekeeping troops [to the territory of Ukraine - ed.], where 60% will be ours [Russian troops - ed.]. An action plan on this issue has been already developed,” he said.

According to the source, the “peacekeeping mission” in Ukraine is planned to be deployed under the auspices of the UN and the OSCE. However, the source failed to name the specific timing of the possible beginning of the “peacekeeping” operation. He noted that all depends on the outcome of the negotiations to discuss and clarify all the details.

The source also added that the peacekeeping operation will be conducted throughout Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

At the same time, he noted that “peacekeeping troops” will include not only the military but also “some military equipment.”

As Ukrinform reported, earlier on Friday National Security and Defence Council Secretary Andriy Parubiy reported that Russia plans to make a new attempt to destabilize the situation in Ukraine in September-October. According to Parubiy, Russia relies on people's discontent with the economic policies of the new government. He expressed confidence that Russia would not limit its subversive activity only to Donbas, but plans to do that in the whole of Ukraine.
